How many times a day do you walk past a penny lying on the ground and refuse to pick it up? We lift our noses in snooty airs, too good to bend for such a small pittance. And yet….
Cliche’s whisper words of wisdom from days gone-by. Too often we disregard them, when listening to voices from our past, offers insights into our future.
In tough economic times, applied knowledge from familiar advice, can result in cold cash. Fools won’t hear the voices who cry out from beyond current culture, but the wise protect themselves by learning from their mistakes.
We’ve all heard, “A penny saved is a penny earned,” by Ben Franklin. Yet how many of us slow down and listen to his priceless admonition?
Do you know that if you started with a single penny, and doubled it each day for only a month, at the end of thirty days you would have over Five Million Dollars? Is it worth bending to pick up a penny now?
In business, or life in general, our American society has lost the value of saving, generally speaking. We are a spending nation, racking up volumes of credit card debt, charging to over-impress, but we rarely put money away. The proof of our upside-down-habit shouts from the consequences of our national debt.
I’d like to challenge you, resolve to put a little money back each month, even if you start with pennies. After all, the more pennies you save, the more you earn. At home and at work.
